A: I thought the Super 35 was an aftermarket kit? (See http://www.ringpinion.com for info) From: Guynn <amx69@xxxxxxxxxx> To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Borg Warner Transtar parts. and Model 35/Super 35 Question We have been a Transtar dealer for about 4 years. We do sell some pieces every so often, but no one has ever asked for any Borg Warner parts. Always Turbo 400, or Torqueflite 904/727. And also Super Turbine 300 . [trans was Buick in Jeeps] If there is need, we will put some Borg Warner parts in stock. One B.W. thing we have begun to look at is the B.W. Dip Stick tube. We have located the correct nut. Tubing is an issue. Not that it is hard to get, just the quantity of tube you have to buy to start with. In my area since no one stocks the size, it has to be freighted in, and when it is sold in small lots, it costs a lot more than Low Carbon material should. We also have a local industrial fab shop with the correct sized bender dies. Rather than low carbon steel tube as it was, we have looked at Stainless. Smaller quantities can be had in my area. Price is nearly on par with buying low carbon and paying freight. On the Model 35 axels, most are 27 spline axels. Then some years use 30 spline units. In my bearing crossover the Model 35 super uses the same bearing & seal as the Dana 44. So, got a few of questions I hope someone can help with. #1What is a model 35 Super, or Super35?? I hasve seen it stated both ways in bearing books. #2 Is the 4 bolt backing plate pattern the same on 35s as on D44s?? #3 Will backing plates swap?? #4 Is the bolt pattern of the backing plate axel flangeon all model 35s the same, or is the Super 35 bigger?? I have located the specs on a lot of rears, but I cannot get bolt pattern specs for model 35, or Super 35. I have been told , but not sure that some model 15s, & 35s use the same bearings and seals. Howver, in aftermarket type crossover I am using I cannot find anything at all on Model 15 rears. Kinda getting stumped with no parts in hand to check out. Regards, Randy Guynn
