RE: Ref: Vote? or Cobra engine into AMX?????????????

I gotta be honest, I hit reply to Bart's (harsh?) response to your original
message to say "ME TOO"... But after listening to your story and really
keeping an open mind, I have to say I have been swayed to your way of
thinking,. I normally would say keep it all AMC but you seem to be really
well-thought-out with this and I think it is an excellent project. It will
definitely draw attention when you open the hood. Have fun...it's YOUR car!

Joe, I own a complete pan to intake 401, that needs REBUILDING. I also have
a 70 360. I have a 72 Javelin that the 360 will go into. The AMX was a race
car, fiberglass fenders, gutted interior, ROUGH body. It's not what I would
have even called restorable. But it makes a great little toy, I plan on
trading the 401 to a friend of mine(a Travelall owner) for the machine work
and parts to build a sweet 360. BTW, a BW T-5 trans will be behind the 360
in the Jav. It's a swap(T-5) I've been doing for years now and is an easy
way to run deep gears, and still cruise the freeways. So you see there are
no shortcuts being taken here, simply a what if, and some of the off list
responeses I've gotten say it shouldn't be sooo difficult or costly. So why
not? I would never consider the 401, because I like smaller, faster revving
engines, and I love AMC's. Since the 360 is slated for the Jav, why not? A
bottom end and cam swap on the DOHC, plus some other bolt ons, and I'm
making people say!
WTF, whoa, COOL, thats weird, or whatever but they'll be talking, and
thinking, the last freedom we are left with in this great land.
Man bless everyone,
Joey
