Re: Politically Correct ???????????

It seems all the news channels are owned by people with their own view and
they don't allow others to distort it. Here in Seattle there is a great
brouhaha over dead people voting in the past election and many live ones who
weren't counted. Election was overturned on manual recount, but we should
have a revote 1/2 the population is saying and most of the news services are
pushing for that as well since the overturn (they predicted the Republican
would win by a landslide. He won by 2 hundred something votes, then machine
recount dropped it to 50 and third manual count sez 169 for the Democrats)
It ain't over cuz the fat lady isn't even in the picture yet!

No Randy, I'm just saying that some editors won't print a certain story, or
parts of a story, that they don't like, or don't think it will help to sell
more newspapers. So don't always believe everything you read. (TV news is
much worse. If it isn't "sensational", it doesn't make it on the tube.)

Cases in point: the Fairbanks Daily News-miner (my local paper) and the
Anchorage Daily News. (I AM AN INDEPENDANT, BY THE WAY! I vote for who I
think will do the best job, not along party lines.)

The News-miner will NOT print any "in U.S." story that would help any
political party other than the Republican Party. (The editor, Marilyn
Romono, has made that abundantly clear.) During the recent races for
Governor and U.S. Senate, nothing was printed about the other candidates,
just Senator Lisa Murkouski (R-Alaska) and her dad, Gov. Frank Murkouski
(R-Alaska). Of course, they both won the local vote.

However, the Anchorage Daily News will report everything, since they don't
care who likes or dislikes their articles. Real news sells, they say, so
they print it. (Anchorage has 200,000+ people, Fairbanks roughly 60,000.) I
found out more about the challenging candidates from this paper, printed
more than 800 MILES AWAY than I did from my local paper.

This is what I mean. The government isn't doing it, the individual editors
and newspaper owners (and news website owners) are. They publish and/or
print what THEY want you to read and know, since it matches their views and
biases. It may or may not be the whole truth. That is why I read
English-printed news from other countries. Here it is slanted one way, there
it is slanted the other way. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Have a great day!
  Steve D.
