Bruce, I can't say 100% this is the case, but some of the gaskets had minor differences for the different part numbers. All the 440 models had the slit for the stainless trim insert, so that can't be the difference. Most of the replacement gaskets are a "one size fits all" type. Can be had with or without the slit. The origianl 63-64 Classic gasket has thick bottom section to fill a gap between the windshield and dash. The replacements don't have this, they are the same all the way around. I stick a piece of 1/4" tubing in the gap and it looks about right. It could be blended in with black RTV between the tubing and gasket/tubing and dash, but looks fine without that, and is much better than a cracked leaking gasket! That trim doesn't pry out, by the way, you HAVE to remove the gasket to remove the trim!
