I did a bit of research on the net but relied mostly on a friend who worked at Mopar cylinder head developement. He was the guy responsible for developing the 4.0 head back in the begining. ihgeardog1, I run three non HO tb's on top of the plenum. The intake before this one used the same base intake but the second half had longer runners with much bigger dia. bores, much larger plenum, and two HO tb's. That intake was not best suited for the rpm range I was running. The intake made best power way after the cam gave up and the result was a loss in torque. Not to mention the head was not capable of flowing at high R's. You could even see in the data log of the engine computer where after 6100 or so the engine took much longer to accelerate. The latest intake with the three TB's have a bit shorter runners, much smaller volume, much smaller plenum volume and three smaller tb's which all help keep velocity up in the intake without resricting it. The head received a port job too but still has stock valves. There is no epoxy in the ports and I still run water. I run an Electomotive TEC unit which enables me to tune all aspects of tuning and this way I can get past the problems of the stock ECM. All pedals were fabbed brake and throttle. I use a Comp Cams and yes it is a stroker. canook2u, my unit was made WAY back in 1989, it is a TEC 1, they were custom made per application. I would love to have the new TEC 3d but it is a bit expensive at this time. I have seen the tmw set up but decided that a plenum set up would yield better power and be easier to tune. Not to say that I would love to try it, it would be interesting. I just don't know if having the injectors further away from the valves would really gain that much power or not. Some NHRA guys are finding benifits to this though. I do not have any Dyno numbers but years ago before the ported head and newest 3 tb intake it ran a 7.29 at 94 MPH in the 1/8th mile. Rice EATR, did you see the first intake I made in the folder? I did just that. It did help but I think that the runners are a bit small to take the full benefit of the two TB's. Take a look at how much smaller the stock intake manifold runners are compared to the actual intake port in the head. I wonder if the new intakes with the equal length runners are the same way? I have never had one in my hands to look at it.
