These shows are literally created in the edit suite. There's an overall plan or formula, and the editor hashes up junk taken from various sources -- some taped for the purpose like me and other fools -- and they assemble a show in probably 4 hours. It's why the networks looooove "reality shows", there's nothing to buy, no one to pay, just one talented editor, it's all product-placement. It sounds crazy, but I don't watch TV channels less than 100 any more. Ain't no news that's not dimwitted or product or press release. Fox, PBS, whatever, all just going for the money. (One of those two pisses me off, the other bores me to death.)
