Re: Lakewood Scattershields

Frank,

This is the exact info I have given out in the past due to the pieces Lakewood has trotted out at shows. However there are others out therre that Claim to be ''in the know'' that claim otherwise. So, I would say the best thing is get one and then you will know what it fits.

The Muncie trans that Lakewood says will fit is the H.D. 420 Muncie. As far as I know it does not carry the common 60s type bolt pattern, but in earlier discusions about this, John Rosa said the M420 has the same bolt pattern as the Car Muncies.

Also, the group at WSC stated when the Lakewwod was fist anounced that it would fit the Car type Muncie.I protested that was not what the pictures show but was told the pictures and the real piece are two different things.

As far asking the manufacturer, that is usually the wise thing to do but be advised there are employees at the manufacturer that may not know either. I say this only because I get bum info from manufacturers on a daily basis.

So, we can call, or write, or discuss, but until someone in AMC world that Knows something about the hobby and the parts in the hobby, then we still don't know what transmission will fit. Until someone has one in hand, everything else is speculation.

We have placed an order and will have pieces in stock so that when a customer needs one they won't have to wait while it is being built.

One bit of advice, If you really want one of these, and plan to use it next year in any sort of Racing activity, Get your order in. If Lakewood is telling us 8 weeks after the order isd placed Now, at this time of year, that time frme is going to DOUBLE in the Late winter, Early spring due to the parts demand from other folks building new combos for the coming race season.

Regards,

Randy Guynn
