Re: {FORGED?} In The Stretch On The Mechanical Repairs, Now A Tranny Question

A: Indeed, the internals are the same from Dodge to AMC, BUT is yours an
actual 904 or a 998? It could be a lockup trans. (Converter is NOT the same
as AMC externally)

After a little over a year and around 4,500$ in parts and repairs I am about
to have the tranny done. I already have a new flexplate and have a new
converter coming next week. I'd like to add a B&M Trans Pack like I did 25
years ago in my other Hornet. I find no listing for an AMC 904. I would
assume it is the same as the Chrysler 904 internally which there is a
listing for a 70-77 6 cyl. 904. I have a 22 gallon gas tank going in along
with a new set of front and rear Addco sway bars this coming week. Making
the gas gauge work and a set of new rear wheel bearings will complete all
the mechanical repairs so now I can spend the winter on making a new custom
interior to replace the toasted on in the car.
