So why not buy uncoated shorties with smog tubes then cut/weld the tubes? If it were for a show vehicle and welding then welding the smog tubes shut might be a big thing, but if clearance and performance are the main benefit just cut and weld shut the tubes (or use some type threaded plug -- I haven't looked at a set close enough to see if that's a viable option). Yes it's a bit of work and/or extra expense, but sometimes you have to do that to get what you want, especially with AMCs! -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Independent Magazine" (AIM) For all AMC enthusiasts http//:farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) -------------- Original message ---------------------- > From: "Zee Man" <z_man401@xxxxxxxxxxx> > To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: HEDMAN HEADERS INSTALLATION STORY's WANTED > Date: Sat, 20 Nov 2004 18:12:33 -0600 > > I am thinking about purchasing some hedman headers,,, i would rather wait > for Edelbrock shorties without smog tubes, but i dont have three years.
