Doug Noel at American Parts Depot in Ohio probably has ther correct valve for your car. Call him at 937/678-7249 . No , this is NOT a commercial! I have been buying parts from him and he has a good variety of parts and he specializes only in AMC.

Joe, you can get a "universal" cable operated heater valve that mounts in the heater hose. Go to your local NAPA dealer and check their catalogs. There are at leas two styles -- one with a tab so you can mount it to the firewall, one wihtout that just hangs in the hose. I have the later type.

Subject: 72 Gremlin heater temp control valve
To: AMClist <mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx>,

My 1972 Gremlin... with a 232 6 cyl with factory AC
has the cable operated water control valve (for the
heater)mounted on the firewall. Is it the same as on a
V8 car? Looks to possibly be in the way when i swap
in the V8 (390 still needing built)next spring. It's
leaking...needs replaced..no sense buying the wrong
part. Anyone with a parts book?? YUP...i'm keeping the
AC also. Ya say...Nuts...i'm just getting old..it
still works...why lose it!! Think about it...old
Gremlin with the AC on...smokes a

Camaro/Mustang...sweet! thanks alot, joe
