Randy I have a nice 73 2bbl but that's as close as I can get. It needs
rebuilding but came off a very well kept 304. You are welcome to it.

Listers, thanks to those that responded and helped out with getting a Carb
for this project. I have one comming. If anyone else may still have one, a
second one would be welcomed. It is usually as good idea to have several
carbs to work with when dialing in a stock class NHRA car.
Will be needing some more parts as time goes no.
You know, I think more AMCers that want to Drag Race might take a close
look at the Stock and Super Stock classes for AMC that NHRA has. Don't
look at the big bad boy classes, look at the lower, slow classdes. I
believe AMCs in many cases have an advantage over the GMs that hold the
records. Bigger engines, better heads, .904 lifter diameter, bigger
bores.wiitin same weight cars. AND... In any class less than M/stock, no
roll bars, no aftermarket seat belts, no extra money for that sort of
thing. Lasst year an AMCer won a National event in Stock class with a 304
Spirit. Bought it, dragged it home, took it apart, put it back together
and decided to race it. Yes, bracket racing is neat. Yes going fast is
neat. But winning class in a better car than the competition has is a very
good feeling. And so is one of those big old WALLY aweards you get from
NHRA for winning class at a Divisional or National event. So, AMC racers,
goo look at the NHRA specs, then go look at what car holds the record, Do
you think you can build an AMC to compete?? Di it. We need more AMCs
kicking butt in all classes. If NHRA is going to give us an advantage,
then we need to take it.
O.K. Off the soap box.
Er.. Anyone else got a 1972 304 2bbl automatic carb they will get rid of??
