When I was a kid there was an actual shop in town that would rebuild starters. Now that I think of it there is one here in Morgantown, at least there was 4-5 years ago. Guy did real good work and was cheap. Heck he gave me brush springs once and told me to come back when I needed something! No charge. Ask around, I'll bet you can find someone to fix the starter you have now. I've replace lots of nose bushings before the install a rebuilt one mentality struck us all!
