RE: THE FORGED RODS ARE DONE!!!!

Hi Nick
Have you sent my decals yet? They were the T-Stripe and some material for my
back bumper for my '73 AMX.
Thanks
All Good,
Mark Holmes

Subject: THE FORGED RODS ARE DONE!!!!

Bart and the rest of the list,

Sorry, I forgot to add the price, they are $399.00/set. I know this is
about $100 more than I projected they would be back in the spring but
there is easily $300-400 more value in these rods than what was described
with the I-beam rod. The machining and bushings for the floaters costs
about $200 to do, a H-beam rod verses an I-beam is normally $200 more, the
polishing would cost another $100-150. The cheapest comparable rod Summit
sells is for a Chevy small block made by Eagle and costs $495. The same
Summit brand rod costs $499.00 for a SBC and Manley is about $600. So now
we can start to brag about building stronger and more powerful AMC engines
for less money than a dime a dozen Chevy. Hopefully these go well. Next
could be 390/401 rods and possibly new forged cranks. What is this world
coming to. The SFI flex plates and balancers should be ready soon as
well.

Hope this helps

Nick Alfano

Nick, how much will these rods be?this is awesome news especially for those
of us that can't find or aford the holy grail of AMC V8's the 390-401 lol
Bart M.
73 Gremlin 360/T10 has forged 11 to 1 flattops,Hmm some forged rods would
accent them nicely >:)
