Depending on your states DMV, you might have a problem. I doubt it because of the age of the car, and because it isn't a popular (and expensive) model. Look at the numbers on your door plate and see if any of them match the title. It's possible someone gave the model number or the consecutive production number (the unmarked one on the bottom of the door tag) as the serial number. The number on the stainless steel plate on the right inner fender IS the actual serial (or VIN, though it truly is a serial number -- VINs started in CY 1966). I'd make an annonymous call and ask about getting the title changed. If the number on the title is somewhere on the car, it shouldn't be a problem. If not, it might be.
