A: My wife looked at a MPFI '84 Renault convertible for $1,000 in '96 (I 
looked at it and discovered the reason it felt funny to drive was it was 
wrecked and not properly fixed. We passed on that for an '84 Maxima for 
$2,000 that she squeezed 150,000 miles out of before trading it in for $200 
against a '99 Ford pickup. She hurt her leg and traded that for an '01 
Subaru Legacy and will now be selling that because the low car still hurts 
her leg and will be driving the '88 Comanche I restificomodified and I'm 
making fulltime 4x4, lifted, and automatic, since it doesn't hurt her to get 
in and out and it's "fun" to drive! <G>)

Never saw one of these before-- but I knew it was around-- a
CALIFORNIA 1.4 Multi-piont injection or perhaps something else???

1984 Renault Alliance  (AMC/Renault Alliance -  R-9)

Actually looks more like a Fuego than a TBI Alliance 1.4,,, with
WAYYY tooo much stuff under the hood!!!!!!
(TBI is soo much easier)

can anyone tell me if the California emmissions killed the
introduction of the 1.4 turbo (R-11) into USA Shores?????
