Subject: eBay: Hurst S/S AMX? NOT!!
There is a fairly obvious CLONE S/S AMX for sale on eBay. Lots of things wrong with the car, starting with the VIN showing that the car came with a 290. The sequential serial number is also quite a bit off from the "range" of VIN numbers credited to the S/S cars. Then there is the issue of a single quad (looks like a R4B) rather than the Edelbrock cross-ram, car has a heater, wipers, and other stuff.
The car doesn't look too bad, actually. A fairly nice looking AMX, but it's no S/S AMX.
The real problem is that the car is not being marketed as a CLONE, but as the real thing.
I've sent several emails (outlining the issues raised above) to the seller (a well-known special-interest car dealer in Springfield, Ohio; but no responses as yet.

Tom,so far you and alot of other 2 seater AMX guys and other AMC forums have raised a red flag about this car and i think it sucks that the dealership would falsly advertise that car as one of the SS/AMX's.get the word out to whoever may bid on it thinking their trying to buy a rare piece of drag racing history.
