RE: intermittant wipers

I have a '70 Javelin with intermittent wipers. Here's how I made it work. I used a wiper motor and drive from a '74 Javelin. I used the linkage also from the '74 as it is somewhat different. The arms for the '70 worked just fine. No more messing with that clip under the cowl either. Then I used a switch and delay box out of a late '70's Jeep Wagoneer! I would not be surprised if is the same switch as a Hornet, Concord or Spirit. The stuff is all Motorcraft. I used the wiring diagram from the '74 AMC Service Manual (that's all I had at the time), wiring it all up as it is shown for the Hornet, and it all works great. I had to slightly modify the plastic where the switch goes on the dash bezel, but nothing major and nothing visible on the outside. Just had to trim it a little for switch clearance. The wiper motor on the '74 Javelin is on the opposite side of the mounting plate as the '70, but it clears the hood just fine. Can't tell it's not original.

Hope this helps!
