Sign shops often use black ABS board in signage. It won't rot and some care and steel wool will take away any glare or spray it with fusion in a satin black. * Over size the holes and yes it may buckle a bit as it expands and contracts, but it won't fail. * For my door panels I used birch underlayment plywood. I cut and fitted it. Three coats of poly on BOTH sides of the panels and they remain perfectly flat and even after 10+ years. * Remember if you treat one side of anything porous, treat both sides or the piece will buckle from moisture getting into the untreated side. ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dan Ritzinger" <danritz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: "AMC List" <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Monday, April 1, 2013 1:42:36 AM > Subject: Re: [AMC-list] cardboard panels > Another option might be thin birch plywood; that appears to be what > the > interior specialists use on some of the cable reality shows.
