[AMC-list] AMC-list Digest, Vol 46, Issue 3 This (Air Cooled V-4 Mighty
Mite engine) was written up in the Wikipedia article about AMC engines:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMC_engines#Air-Cooled_108 When I
first added the section about this engine to the Wikipedia article, I
included some references about it which have subsequently been deleted.
The 108 V-4 was actually built by Lycoming, as I recall.
------------------------------------------ Makes perfectly good sense
that AMC would have had the engine built by an outside contractor. Not
enough volume for them to install a special line, and Lycoming was
already building similar small aircraft engines. AMC did design and
build the prototype though.
