Fullsized Jeeps used an input shaft that was 5" longer than 6 cyls, but it had a 5" spacer between the bell and Trans. Not a special bell. Frank wrote: Only the AMC V-8 transmissions prior to 1979 have the long input shaft. I'm not sure about Jeeps, just talking cars now! The only manual used in cars from 79 on behind a V-8 was the SR4. The only other trans used was a 998 (no 360 in 79). The 1972+ AMC six bell is strong enough to be used in Jeeps, and it is 6-5/8" deep. Everyone uses the six cylinder bell (specifically 77-83) for T-5 (and other trans) conversions -- NOT the T-10 or V-8 three speed bell. -- Frank Swygert -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
