For those of you interested in my travails, I tracked down the source of my brake frustrations. As was suggested here, I took the AMX for a few laps around town to knock any rust off the rotors, but found that the brakes remained inconsistent, feeling firm one minute and going limp the next. I bled and re-bled the brakes before discovering a minor leak in one of the front lines. It looks like the leak wasn't enough to cause a complete loss of front brakes, but was enough to admit air into the system and thus cause the erratic braking. Ordered a new brake line over the Internet (of course no local parts stores carry brake lines for a 1979 AMX), and should have it fixed shortly. Lesson of the day: Visually inspect everything in a system you're having trouble with and, as always, assume nothing. dan _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
