Hi Armand, I have two different brands I like and have used for the past 15 years or more. The first is SA Gear or back them was Dynagear. SA bought them out about back in the early 2000s. It is a true seamless double roller with 3 adjustments for cranks shaft timing. Straight up, 4 degrees advance and 4 retard. A lot of the others that you see out there for AMC are SA gear packaged under a different name as Dynagear was one of the main timing mfg in the US. The second one is Rolmaster billet. This one is quite a bit more money and probably over kill for most but it is a billet steel gear set top and bottom with one of the best chains in the business and has a torrington bearing on the block side to reduce wear. It also has 9 adjustments for timing so degreeing your cam to a very specific setting is easier without degree keys. I used Cloyes back in the 80s and although it is a good set up, I prefer the two I am using and selling today. Nick, Alfano Performance 4849-76 st. Got any bad experiences to relate?? Is the Cloyes chain the best available? Anyone got any ideas about where to find a gear drive? or which one to stay away from?
