If you're lucky, the PCV is jammed open. From: "Eddie Stakes" To: , Cc: harry bublitz Subject: [AMC-list] engine help needed Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original I'm in need of some engine info.I recently professionally had my 401 rebuilt top to bottom. We fired it up ran good with 80 oil pressure. Started it again at this point it only has headers on it. We noticed on the left bank header oil is seriously coming out the end.The next day i had the dull exhaust completed. fired it up ex-stream smoke pouring out both sides it doesn't appear to be blue oily smoke. The engine sounds sick it wont rev up to it's full potential sounds like possible a dead cyl. Not at first but now the car wont go under it's own power put it in gear it dies. The engine at most has 30 minutes idle an revving time. I'm afraid this guy may have possibly way over revved it.Oil pressure now is down to 40 pounds. Dose anyone have any ideas on whats going on? Thanks Ed for the use of your great site.
