yes, batteries are murderously expensive now . 
I himhawwed around for over a month before just going for another 
redtop Optima. 
My first one is now 12+ years old, been killed and brought back to 
many times to count with all my surgeries. 
I watched for a sale at Advance auto and they ran one. It specifically said 
"optimas not included" but it came up at a sale price when I had put it 
in the cart. I went back to buy it online and no sale price. 
Tried three more times and it finally loaded at the sale price again. 
I bought it instantly, delivered to the house $147. yeah OUCH indeed. 
I know a lot of people don't like them, I do, the main thing to remember 
NEVER BUY ONE ONLINE FROM A PLACE THAT DOES NOT HAVE BRICK AND MORTAR STORES! 

No one will take one as a warranty return unless they sell it. If bought online, you have to 
first try to get the retailer to take it back and then go to Optima direct. They will honor 
the warranty but it takes some begging. 

Joe, I sure hope you get this wagon done, I remember how you later regretted parting out 
that 1st one!

Cleaned some grounds tonight and installed a new battery. Man, batteries are 
expensive now. 

Finished the oil change. I have lights, turn signals, and the radio works.. 
It's so nice to revive a car without a lot of electrical problems. 
The engine turns with the starter but I'm not ready to try to start it yet. 
Radiator and gas tank go to the radiator shop in Friday morning.
