http://www.liclassiccars.com/Newsletter/Apr11.htmlNot mine, above is Long Island Classic Car Club Newsletter they send me from time to time, ironically a number of actual AMC chapters still send me their newsletters since I used to send them the Houston AMC club newsletter.....from about 1990 to 2001....some of the local club (I am not affiliated with it, but still see a number of the guys, good group of AMCers) but some of the local club newsletters I used to do are epic....some were 20-28 pages, bigger than the national AMC club rags, and chock full of AMC stuff from my archives and collection. I have (no joke) enough AMC crap to put together a 10-20 page newsletter for next hundred years. Anyways, some of the AMC & Rambler chapters scattered across this great land still send me a complimentary newsletter from time to time and it is appreciated, always good to see AMC happenings around the USA.
So with that in mind, ya'll click on the link above to read the Long Island newsletter, not much AMC content in it, and something I noticed which I found ironic is that editor is asking for folks to send in stuff, whether it is articles, schedules, anything! Used to be my beef. And have seen same pleads from national club newsletters.
And even with the $4 gas he mentions, attendance at meets and cruises down, no reason to not go out and enjoy your old classic AMC either. Go write about it, send it in. So excuse me while I hop into the 68 convertible Rebel 'Machine' and head off to FedEx to ship some things out, it is 69 degrees here, sunny and will get down to about 51 or so tonight and the 401 interceptor I dropped in there in 1986 just comes alive with the ram air shoving Houston's cool night air down it when temps get in the 52-65 degree range.
