The short of it is that 90 weight is about best :-) the limitations
for that trans are (1) bronze bearings so no "extreme pressure" lubes
which are near-universal in modern gear oils. (2) the synchros have
huge clearances by design so they don't drag the steel gears to
matching speed very well, and with thin oils barely at all. the
synchros need thick oil to work, in my observation.
