Long letter and my eyes started to glaze over so I didn't read the whole thing. I do remember the thread and I got some letters in my inbox from some lister who invited me to do some anatomically impossible acts. My input is that I do not wear seat belts. I have been pulled over a ticketed twice and beat the ticket both times.
I take offense to the stings and undercover acts to nail non-wearers and the way the law was passed in the first place.
But I also remember the way this thread went so I will only write this one letter on it and Frank won't have to yell at us all.
AMC related; My new Classic (64 770, dealer installed 327 and posi) came with a GM alt hooked up to it. They butchered the mounts to install it but I had an extra mount. It was running the battery dead overnight. The main power wire (that big honkin wire that runs back to the cab) was hooked up to the power lug on the alt with a 12 gauge wire bridged to the alts funny 2 wire connector. Then they had a little white wire going from that connector to the battery positive post. Finally they just tied the cars original field and exciter wires together. I'm glad they didn't cut anything.
Like I said, the car would go dead over night so I just hooked up an original Motorola alternator and it has been trouble free for four days. I drove it to work today and with the new 2" exhaust and a pair of Smittys they heard me befor seeing me.
The cars a blast and I will be pulling the other 64s drive line next week.
