I guess I should explain. Mark in WV was aware of this. I replaced the Rambler American gas tank with a first generation Mustang gas tank and fuel level sender when I re-habilitated the car. The exhaust routing then became much more difficult. The Mustang tank takes up the whole width of the trunk floor under the car, unlike the American tank which was narrow and provided easy access for the exhaust pipe to the rear.
