My Father owned a 67 Rebel with a 290 V8 and auto trans that gave everyone fits because it leaked from the transmission. Don't remember where but I think it was the little o ring around the fill tube. The white Javelin's automatic never leaked. The engines afaik where very good about not leaking unless the valve covers got loose or the main seals are old. The white Javelin's power steering pump leaked because of old seals, but that's been rebuilt now too so no leaks there. Where is your car leaking from?
