Because of the narrowness between the wheel wells, the options are very limited. The OHV and flathead versions of the 195.6 are easiest. Don't know if the Ford 170/200 would be an option (I think Frank said it was doable once) Length is another big issue. A more modern 4 cyl could be used with a custom intake/exhaust setup. (I considered a Renix TBI or Jeep EFI on an AMC 2.5 from a '84 to '04 or so Jeep. People pull them quite often for 4.0L swaps. If I had a shop and an early rambler, I'd test fit the one I have now. Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Harold is considering rebuilding his engine in his Rambler or going to more modern AMC engien/trans setup. Anyone have advise or suggestions please feel free to comment and thanks in advance to all who might, be sure to copy your reply to Harold also. I think I'm going to have to rebuild My engine in MY 58 Rambler Custom 6. Do You know where I can find a rebuild kit? I looked on Ebay and saw they want 1300.00 for one. I can't believe that's correct. Also if I changed My engine with another one, do You know what would fit? Mine is a 196 cu.in. I thought maybe a V6. What would You do? Please let Me know.
