Re: [AMC-list] Need Borg Warner T-35 Automatic Transmission for 1970 AMC HORNET 232

Jeep used a few BW autos in the early '70s, late 60's. Not sure what model was used in the 2wd rigs with postal jeeps, but a few Jtrucks even came with the early (pre '71) 232.
The complete trans that fits will have the starter on the left (normally driver's side except postal vehicles).
They often use 1 ton version trans with bolt on yoke in the postal/ice cream trucks, but they continued using the smaller pattern 6 for several years after AMC cars stopped in '71 (the only year of 258 small bell)
In use postal rigs got either 6 cyl motor swapped in while being serviced, with just a different bell and maybe converter as well as starter and flexplate (I have the later plate somewhere)
I had a Cortina with 2.0L and BW auto as well as a '69 Datsun 510 and Mazda 808 wagon. It made motor swaps pretty easy!

transmission mechanic, (not the AAMCO type) here in SoCal, that can do a
rebuild of mine. The car still is drivable, what it does is makes a winding
noise like a blender sound, even in park. When its in gear it slips, but at
some point it "catches" the gears and goes normal, but as soon as you gas
it or release the gas, than it slips again. Obviously sonn it won't move at
all, and of course I am not driving it.

Also just a question, what other makes of cars / trucks has a compatible
"T-35". I hears that the Ford Courier truck, and the Mazda B1500 piston, and
rotory truck has a Borg Warner T-35, but it not numbered as T-35 because
its not AMC. And which other (if any) AMC's / Jeeps / and Postal Jeeps has a
