I know I'm jumping in late but re: new seals in the motor, you may not 
need them. New grease may be all it needs. The two common causes for 
them not to work are old, hard grease or a shrunken seal on the paddle 
valve. The seal is made of leather and I've heard of people bringing 
them back with leather conditioner (you'll need to get something potent 
like they use on saddles). The wiper motors are easy to work on, very 
low tech, and I would argue more durable than an electric motor. Here's
