A couple of comments maybe off topic. I would hope that the appreciation of old
American iron by at least some of the Iranian people can help them to remember
that our countries could be friends and that perhaps they could influence their
narrow-minded government to become more democratic. I have worked with
"Persians" in the past and so did my late wife (who was a nurse). My experience
was good and I quickly established a friendship with one co-worker but I have
lost track of him over the years.
I also own an pre-war (WWII) light airplane for which only 120 copies were
made. It has a radial engine and 25 of thiese planes plush spare parts were
sold to Iran as instrument trainers just prior to WWII. I have wondered whether
any of those exported planes still exist (or at least any of the engines for
which parts are very scarce). I could just imagine those engines lying in the
desert somewhere with goats or camels eating the grass and weeds around
them. The political climate between our countries is so frosty that I would not
even attempt to make contacts in Iran to locate some of those planes.

Some of you may remember that AMC and its predecessors had a quite respectable
sales network in Iran, right up until 1980:

The Rambler American was built in Iran in knocked-down kits; while the senior
cars and even a few Javelins made it in as imports.
Below is a link to a classic car show that took place recently. Don't see any
AMC's in it, but it's a good bet there are still some left in the country.

P.S. Speaking of AMC's overseas, how about this 75 Pacer in Switzerland:

I'd rather push a Rambler than drive a Toyota.
