While road-testing the freshly-installed 400 in my wife's 68 Firebird, smoke 
began rolling out of the engine compartment.  I immediately pulled over, of 
course, and found that the plastic oil pressure tubing (which I had not yet 
secured to the fender well/firewall) worked its way against a header, 
melted, and had been severed, pumping a lot of oil everywhere under the 
hood.  What a mess.  But no fire or engine damage, luckily.  Since then, I 
use nothing but copper.
