I've been getting about 10 PSI at hot idle ever since my 401 was rebuilt (pretty low idle, maybe 500 RPM or slightly less). I'd like to see more, but have had no issues after 5+ years on the road.

I believe this is for chebbys and such. Most AMC TSMs call for at least 13 at
idle and over 37 at highway rpm. (with hot oil I assume)

Jim,
Donâ?Tt pull the engine until you check the oil pressure relief spring
system.
If the relief spring is too weak or installed wrong, it may be bypassing most
of
the pumps output.
