Hi Dave, This is Jeff, that used to live in Chesapeake. The BBD carb with the stepper motor works GREAT, but only if you have all the equipment hooked up to it. The ECC will just place the stepper motor in a fixed position if all the correct imputs are not there, and it will run just like one built without it.. DID you check to see if the 3 long carb bolts that hold the top to the bottom are all snug. They have a tendency to work loose. You have to remobe the carb from the intake to tighten the ones that go in from the bottom to the top. When these are loose, the carb shifts from the weight of the air cleaned, and will cause a bid vacuum leak and stall or run very fast.... I get flewless operation from my '83 Eagle with the system on it.. Right now, my o2 sensor has failed, so it does not co into closed loop operation, which will help fuel economy, but it still runs perfect in open loop.... The factory manual has a great description of how the whole system works... also make sure your EGR valve is not sticking part way open.. yes, I HATE the plastic valve cover too........ the factory gauge package is a cool thing to have.
