I got the info from someone who recently bought one. They hooked it up and the sensor didn't work. Instead of sending another sensor they sent a refund and told them they were going to stop making them. Apparently they got a bad batch of sensors from a supplier? Must not have been selling many of them?

That baffles me as it simply a manual trans Jeep CPS. Not saying they did not stop making it. Just curious as mine has performed flawlessly. -----Original Message----- From: Frank Swygert<farna@xxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2010 11:22:02 The 258 flywheel or flexplate works on the 4.0L and vice-versa. You must match the starter to the flywheel/flex plate (4.0L starter needs 4.0L flywheel, 258 starter 258 flywheel). It's not hard to modify the old style bell to accept a CPS if you want to go with the computer. In that case you need the 4.0L flywheel. The other choice is $350 or so for a CPS relocation kit from HESCO. My understanding is that Advance Adapters has stopped selling a kit due to some sensor problems. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://www.amc-mag.com (free download available!) _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
