Folks (like me) that saw an older car, grabbed it and decided to drive it. Folks that want to work on it themselves, and keep it running themselves. For this crowd (me included) - real basic info and pictures in a book, magazine or newsletter would be a real help. snip Bruce, there are guys like you (and me, for that matter) who want to learn how to do the work themselves. And there are guys who don't care and just don't want to spend the money. I had this conversation is one of the Rambler club members on Saturday as we were watching the cars come in for the show in Sacramento. He had been on the club tour the day before with several of the club cars and had noticed the smelly exhausts on a couple of cars due to poor tuning. He has a Pacer with a 4.0 liter and he had to pass one of the cars because he couldn't tolerate the exhaust smell from it. You know, that rich exhaust smell that is so obnoxious. He said these guys just did not care to tune the cars themselves and certainly did not want to spend any money on having the work done. So they got poorer gas mileage, reduced performance and they polluted the atmosphere. True Rambler mentality. The result was a couple of nice looking Ramblers that ran lousy and would definitely draw complaints from some fastidious driver following them in their new Prius. It gives the hobby a bad name, but what are you gonna do?
