I've heard you want to use the dist gear from your AMC dist due to issues with the gear that comes on those dist. 
    For wires?  I assume you are looking for the "correct" for hei wires with the holder ring/nipple. 
    Ford 460 wires from late 80's may be configured pretty close and some of those had the holder nipples since the wide cap Ford wires had the same basic female end they used to just use the GM boots too.

Got a 1967 marlin that I put one of those HEI distributors that they sell  
on e-bay . Was wondering if anybody has done this and what application of 
spark  plug wires you used , was thinking Buick might be close . Everybody's 
input  would be helpful
