Good catch! Lacquer will lift and destroy enamels if not applied in thin dry coats. I don't use it for anything. So, I plumb forgot about it. You want to very sure your Primers and topcoats are 100% compatible. I sprayed acrylic enamel W/hardener over urethane some 10 plus years ago. When the paint was about 3-4 years old I left it outside in 10 degree weather, under a cover. While I worked on my shop. Even after that length of time I got some very tiny solvent "pop" bubbles in the paint! How did I fix it? Didn't. They are still there :( still a good looking car, hard to see. I would not repaint it without stripping it. To lazy for that! Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular -----Original Message----- From: "Daniel G. You may be able to seal the old finish first and then use lacquer; perhaps others more knowledgeable can offer advice on that.
