The only problem with the Pinto is that the filler tube is inside the passenger compartment and is usually ripped loose from the tank in a bad rear collisions, dousing the inside with gasoline, which can easily and sometimes explosively catch fire. If you're really concerned about it the filler neck could be modified to come out of the tank and NOT in the passenger compartment. Wouldn't be real easy, but something like the old 63-666 Classics with the filler entering the bottom of the tank and exiting a side into the fenderwell could be done, I think.
