re: Lucas Oil additives, etc. The thing is, modern oils don't really need additives at all. There are special cases (break in, cleaning, etc) but in general, no modern oil lacks anything needed for the job. THe zinc/ZDDP thing with modern oils vs. flat tappet engines is a special case (but normal to us). I'm not saying you can't use one to "patch up" a problem, like a noisy trans, but doing so isn't because of a deficiency in the oil. STP was the biggest scam ever.
