To solve said problems Fill the tank 90% with water and there will be no room for fumes. also after your welding you can turn tank so water covers welded area to see if she leaks. No leakes and no boom! Just my suggestion. I've read all kinds of tried and true methods. I got two major problems. Making welds that I know are perfect. Second one is. If the vapor level is not low enough. There will be this loud boom. The area surrounding said boom will be on fire. My wife will wonder "now where did he go?". ------Original Message------ From: das24rules@xxxxxxxxx Sender: amc-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: das24rules@xxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: AMC, Rambler, Nash,Jeep and family Subject: Re: [AMC-list] progress... Sent: Mar 24, 2010 10:58 PM i have a friend who has welded several tanks. i thought i would have to fix one so asked him his way. he takes a shop-vac and sucks out, and an air line from the compressor going in the sending unit hole. then, after it "smells" clean, he puts his extra argon tank with an old hose from an old welder pumping argon into it while he welds it. i dont know why it wouldnt be ok to just leave either the shop-vac, or an air line blowing in while you weld. it takes a certain amount of fumes to be flamable, and once they are gone, there aint enough left. dave stohler www.picasaweb.google.com/das24rules _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
