> Is that John Deere green ? :) > Nope, but I suppose it's close! Montana FERN GREEN. THe interior is done in SHOCK GREEN. > I never knew they double walled the trunk side in the pre 64's before. > Yup, it's a Nashcan. Nash was stodgy but Nash was not cheap. > Can you come help me do my gas tank? > You never did show up to help me fix the rust on the Jeep... > Umm, yeah, .... Has anyone worked with JB weld INSIDE a fuel tank? I'm skeptical about 100% immersion in gasoline for extended periods. I don't know of anything that survives it except Viton, Buna-N and such. The tank in the car obviously is more "bomb" material than I even > want to fool with. So... > I put a shop vac on blow and stuck the hose in the filler neck until I could smell nothing come out, then washed it with purple stuff (garage floor cleaner). Ain't no gas in there then. I also have an old fashioned, heat it with a torch soldering Iron. > But can the baffle be soldered in without getting all the galvanizing > off the inside of the tank in that area? > But solder has no strength, it's really weak. But it's a GREAT sealer -- if you can get in there with a torch, mount the baffle with brass screws and solder it after. But I suppose a baffle just sits flat in there, solder would probably be plenty strong for that on second thought. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
