If no one else answers, I'd start with white vinegar and water,
the vinegar should be acidic enough to make a dent in the crud yet not hurt the plastic, if it did hurt plastic, I'd not have a coffee pot left as I clean ours with white vinegar all the time.

You may even try that trick, run the vinegar through the coffee pot, then pour the hot mix into the overflow and windshield bottles and let them soak till cool, try a soft bottle brush somewhere in the middle of the cool down.
