Thanks! I found an old 1bbl->2bbl carb adapter ((shudder)) and it has a BBD base (with slots) and it indeed does fit on the WCD base. So BBD == WCD mounting flange-wise. That's decent. My local carb specialists say that the 32/36 Weber is NOT over-carbing for the 196 at 140hp, 2000 - 4000 rpm, 200 cfm pumping, etc. That is very good news, as those things are fairly common "jeep weber" kits which uses an adapter that's quite decently smoothed. As Frank said, it's more than just bolt pattern (though that's a big deal!). The issue on the 195.6 is the valve cover. At the intake plate, there's maybe 1.25" clearance. The adapter is about 1.5" tall, there's maybe 1.5" clearance there. The problem is that the valve springs are VERY close, so you can't just clearance the valve cover. The 32/36 has linkage junk on one side and fuel bowl junk on the other. No way the fuel bowl will fit next to the cover. Looking at pics via google, there *might* be enough room for a stripped down throttle linkage but it would be tight! Wish I had one to set on there. This is not top-of-the-list right now though. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
