so, things are getting done one at a time on that old car. all the rubber fuel lines are now replaced. by the way, when i dropped the tank, i could not beleive how spotless it was inside. looks brand new in there. it was not the pickup tube loose on the sending unit. it was the rubber line coming off of the pickup that got soft, and was leaking past the clamp. tonight, i finally got the correct brake shoes for the rear. now it has brakes back there. shoes are still cheap for those brakes. 13.99 i think was all for a set. they got me the wrong ones the other day, so another 45 mile trip to town to get the right ones. also got the wiper motor fixed tonight. so now that its snowing and raining back and forth, i can now be able to drive rosie. i didnt realise that its pretty much just grease that seals that entire thing. old grease was hard and all. brake cleaner, cleaned it all up, and regreased with wheel bearing grease and working great. need a new paddle or what ever its called inside. it has 2 spots where the fiber junk is missing. i love how easy theseare to work on, and fun they are to drive.
im with tom j. on LOVING these little things. the buddies i have at the parts store got a kick out of it tonight. their first time seeing it. "tinyb@st@ard aint it" was the main comment. lol. to much fun. dave stohler
