I talked with John Conde (former AMC PR guru ) back in the day about 
this. I don't remember how the subject came up. John told me only 2 
AMC powered Motor Homes had been made by AM General and that he drove 
one and the thing did not work that well. Not sure what was wrong 
with it or if they could fixed it. After tests they don't seem to 
think the really had a market for it , so the project was dropped. It 
just did not get very far. LRDaum
