Re: [AMC-list] Rockers needed for 67 Rogue

I'll second AJ on a used frame sill. I've bought several chunks of used metal from him and I've been pretty happy with what I got.

The repro rocker panels (I think the inners are available as well but you'll need to fab up the reinforcement if that is bad) are pretty nice but they don't have the drains in them the factory ones have. You'll need to add them or they will rust out. Also, due to the way these are typically stacked, expect it to be splayed out a little bit but if you gently work it back, it will fit in nicely. I used one of these panels to fix the driver's side rocker on my 68 4 door several years ago. You can see what I did starting at http://www.mattsoldcars.com/RestoreAmerican/drivers_quarter_panel03.shtml.

Go over that left rail pretty carefully. I've seen the steering box mounts tear out of Americans with rust in that area. Usually six cylinder cars with leaky batteries. There is no reason you can't repair it though. Just needs to be done right. You are going the right way by looking for a rail to replace it. I'd go to AJ at south Texas AMC. He probably has a nice rust free rail. The AMC vendors should have the rockers as they have been repro'd. ------Original Message------

Is there any place reproducing these? I also need a front left framerail for the same car. Mine has a weak spot close to the sway bar mount and I need something to cut some patches out of.
