I'm pretty familiar, or was, with the Quad series engines. They run like a scalded ape for a 4cyl, One would do VERY well in the early, or any American. You need to remember they wind up high, lots higher then what you are used to!!! There is a also a drive pulley on one cam the back of the head, if needed! What a good fit! After I graduate in June I'm due for junkyard parts hunting (VSS, ECM, etc) and I think I better go look at that quad 4. It's a really pretty motor too. The blower seems silly; a turbo would be much better, but hey, it's his toy, and it'll be a hell of a ride! Shifter placement looks good too.
